The bark of the Chinese Elm is mottled with a dark gray color that is mixed with cream and red coloring. The leaves are small, dark green, and have a leathery appearance with a shiny top side and small, blunt teeth. Then in the fall, the Chinese Elm bonsai tree has fruit that matures. The nice thing about the Chinese Elm is that it remains semi-evergreen, as long as kept indoors. The Chinese Elm Bonsai Tree is both an Indoor and an Outdoor bonsai tree.
