Also called CHRISTMAS CHERRY, WINTER CHERRY.

This Mediterranean native produces starry white flowers in summer, followed by small scarlet poisonous berries (called globes). In the wild, it grows sedately into a bushy, velvety leafed shrub. The species is related to the potato, eggplant, and tomato, as well as to some other less edible plants.

These are "pre-bonsai" trees that are in preparation for bonsai. They are in nursery growing pots instead of traditional bonsai pots.
